Whole Red Lentils (also called Masoor Dal) is different from the rest of the Indian lentils because it does not need to be soaked before being cooked. These are soft lentils. It is super high in protein (26%). These protein content is only beaten by soya and hemp among plant-based foods.
Soak the contents for 30 minutes if possible. Wash in 2 changes of clean water. Boil lentils using enough water for 30 minutes. Add salt to taste. Boil these lentils to a consistency of soup
